He Is Risen

“He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.”

– Matthew 28:5–6

The Resurrection Was Not a Metaphor

The resurrection of Jesus was not symbolic.

It was not poetic language meant to inspire hope in dark times. It was not a spiritual idea designed to comfort grieving hearts. It was decisive, physical, and final.

The angel’s words were simple and unmistakable. He is not here. Not hidden. Not misplaced. Not remembered only in spirit. He is risen, exactly as He said He would be.

Christian faith stands or falls on this truth. If Jesus did not rise, then the cross is unfinished business. But because He did rise, everything changed.

Jesus Did Exactly What He Promised

The resurrection did not catch heaven off guard.

Jesus spoke openly about it. He told His followers what would happen. He warned them of suffering, death, and resurrection. Yet when Sunday morning arrived, disbelief still lingered.

Hope often struggles to believe its own fulfillment.

Matthew reminds us of something critical. Jesus rose as He said. The resurrection was not a surprise. It was a promise kept.

God does not improvise redemption. He fulfills it.

Death Did Not Win the Argument

Friday looked final.
Saturday felt silent.
But Sunday answered everything.

The resurrection settled the debate once and for all. Sin did not have the final word. Death did not get the last sentence. The grave could not hold what God had declared finished.

The stone was not rolled away so Jesus could escape. It was rolled away so the world could see.

Resurrection was not recovery. It was victory.

Why the Resurrection Had to Be Real

If the resurrection were symbolic, sin would still have power. If it were imagined, death would still reign. If it were exaggerated, faith would collapse under pressure.

But the resurrection was real.

A real tomb.
A real body.
A real victory.

The risen Christ transformed fearful disciples into bold witnesses. He turned grief into confidence and doubt into conviction. Something undeniable happened, because lives were changed permanently.

Faith is not built on wishful thinking. It is anchored in an empty tomb.

The Resurrection Rewrites Identity

When Jesus rose, He did more than defeat death. He redefined identity.

Those who were once bound by sin were now free. Those marked by failure were now restored. Those living under fear were now empowered.

Resurrection does not merely change circumstances. It changes who we are.

The risen Christ does not offer improved behavior. He offers new life.

Resurrection Power Is Not Passive

The resurrection was decisive, but it was not meant to be distant.

The same power that raised Jesus from the grave is active today. It breaks chains. It restores hope. It fuels obedience. It strengthens endurance.

Resurrection power is not just something we celebrate. It is something we live from.

Christian faith is not about surviving life. It is about living resurrected.

The Cross Paid the Price. The Resurrection Proved the Payment Was Accepted

The cross and the resurrection are inseparable.

The cross dealt with sin.
The resurrection confirmed victory.

Without the resurrection, the cross would be tragic. With the resurrection, it becomes triumphant.

Jesus did not rise to inspire emotion. He rose to confirm redemption.

The debt is paid.
The verdict is settled.
The promise is fulfilled.

The Resurrection Demands a Response

Easter is not meant to be observed casually.

The resurrection calls for decision.

If Jesus is risen, then He is Lord. If He defeated death, then His words carry authority. If the tomb is empty, then faith cannot remain theoretical.

Resurrection invites surrender, obedience, and purpose.

We are not saved to stay the same. We are raised to walk differently.

From the Empty Tomb to the Call

The resurrection did not end the story. It launched a mission.

Jesus rose and sent His followers forward. Resurrection power was never meant to be stored. It was meant to be carried into the world.

Those who believe in the resurrection are called to live with courage, clarity, and conviction.

Because He is risen, hope moves forward.
Because He is risen, faith stands firm.
Because He is risen, purpose remains alive.

If the Resurrection Is True, Nothing Is Hopeless

The empty tomb changes how we face everything.

Fear loses authority.
Failure loses permanence.
Death loses dominance.

The resurrection assures us that God keeps His promises, even when circumstances say otherwise.

Whatever looks dead is not beyond God’s power. Whatever feels final is not the end.

Resurrection rewrites what is possible.

He Is Risen—and That Changes Everything

The angel did not say Jesus was improved.
He did not say Jesus recovered.
He said Jesus is risen.

That word carries finality, authority, and hope.

The resurrection is not just an event in history. It is the foundation of faith. It confirms truth, secures redemption, and anchors eternity.

He is risen.
Just as He said.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the truth of the resurrection.
Thank You that the cross was not the end and the tomb could not hold You.

Anchor my faith in the reality that You defeated sin and death completely.
Help me live with confidence, hope, and obedience because You are alive.

Let resurrection power shape how I think, how I lead, and how I walk each day.
Because You are risen, I choose to live fully surrendered to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God bless, and let’s keep Him first in everything we do.
