Divine GPS: Navigating Life with the Spirit of Truth
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
John 16:13
Hey there, my fabulous friends in faith!
It’s your favorite road trip enthusiast, Dan Greer, here to take you on an adventure that will make your heart race and your faith soar.
Buckle up, because we’re about to embark on a road trip like no other, guided by the Spirit’s divine GPS!
Imagine this: You’re cruising down the open road, wind in your hair, and the thrill of adventure coursing through your veins.
The Spirit of Truth is your trusty navigator, and he’s got the ultimate road trip playlist, hand-picked by the heavens.
You’ve got Vin Diesel on speed dial, just in case you need a little extra “Fast and Furious” boost.
With John 16:13 as our roadmap, let’s hit the gas and explore the breathtaking terrain of faith, revelation, and a future filled with divine surprises.
As we zoom past the familiar sights of doubt and uncertainty, the Spirit whispers, “Fear not, my friend, for I am here to guide you into all truth.”
He’s like the GPS voice that doesn’t just tell you where to turn but reveals the deep truths and mysteries that unfold before your very eyes.
No roadblock can deter us because we’ve got the Spirit’s infinite wisdom on our side.
Now, I don’t know about you, but road trips can be a wild mix of excitement and chaos. There’s always that one person who insists on packing the entire kitchen sink (Jenna), the inevitable “Are we there yet?” from the backseat(ALL OF THE KIDS), and those unexpected detours that lead to the most memorable adventures.
Well, in our God First Life road trip, the Spirit is our constant companion, bringing order to the chaos and turning detours into divine appointments.
Picture this: You miss a turn, and instead of frustration, you hear the Spirit chuckle and say, “Well, well, well, looks like we’ve got ourselves an unplanned pit stop. Trust me, my friend, there’s something special waiting for us just around the corner.”
And oh boy, does he deliver!
Suddenly, you find yourself stumbling upon a hidden gem quaint little cafe where the coffee is brewed with heavenly perfection or a serene lakeside retreat that calms your weary soul.
But it’s not just the unexpected pit stops that make this road trip unforgettable.
It’s the people we meet along the way.
The Spirit knows that our fellow travelers are an essential part of the journey, and he orchestrates divine encounters that leave us forever changed.
From the wise old soul who imparts nuggets of wisdom like a seasoned traveler to the enthusiastic road trippers who can turn any rest stop into a praise party, we’re surrounded by a community that inspires, challenges and uplifts us.
And let’s not forget about the scenery!
The Spirit has an eye for beauty, and he’s got the ultimate panoramic view of God’s creation.
Whether it’s the majestic mountains that make you feel small in the grand scheme of things or the endless expanse of the ocean that reminds you of God’s limitless love, each mile brings a new glimpse of God’s glory.
But here’s the best part: This road trip isn’t just about the destination it’s about the journey itself.
It’s about the moments of laughter shared with your travel companions, the deep conversations that uncover hidden truths, and the heart-to-heart talks with God as the miles pass by.
It’s about discovering more of yourself, deepening your relationship with God, and embracing the freedom that comes from living a God First Life.
So, my fellow road warriors, let’s hit the highway with a sense of wonder, an open heart, and a trust that knows no limits.
When the Spirit is our GPS, there’s no need to worry about wrong turns or dead ends.
He’s got a divine detour for every setback and a heavenly shortcut for every delay.
As we embark on this epic God First Life road trip, let’s remember to bring along our sense of humor. Because let’s face it, road trips can be filled with unexpected twists, turns, and even the occasional flat tire.
But with the Spirit as our co-pilot, we can laugh in the face of adversity and find joy in the journey.
Time to Take Action
Here are a few takeaways from our comedy-infused road trip:
- Embrace the Sing-Along Sessions! Just like those unforgettable car karaoke moments, life is better when we sing our hearts out.
So, crank up the music, roll down the windows, and belt out your favorite tunes. Whether you’re a rockstar in the making or more of a shower singer, let your voice be heard and embrace the joy of uninhibited self-expression.
- Laugh at the Map Mishaps: Who hasn’t experienced the confusion of a misread map or a wrong turn? Instead of getting frustrated, let’s take a page out of Vin Diesel’s book and laugh it off. Remember, even the most experienced travelers make mistakes. So, giggle at the roadblocks, giggle at the missed exits, and trust that the Spirit will guide you back on track.
- Find Joy in the Rest Stops: Rest stops are like little oases on our journey, offering a chance to stretch our legs, refuel, and grab a snack. But let’s not forget to find joy in the small moments too. Whether it’s a quirky souvenir shop, a hilarious sign, or a chance encounter with a fellow traveler, embrace the unexpected delights that make each rest stop a mini-adventure.
- Share Road Trip Stories: Road trips are notorious for creating unforgettable stories. So, gather around the campfire (or the living room) and share your favorite road trip tales. From the time you accidentally packed a cooler full of socks instead of sandwiches to the unforgettable roadside attractions you stumbled upon, let the laughter flow as you relive these moments with your loved ones.
- Embrace the Roadside Wonders: Along the way, you’re bound to encounter some quirky roadside attractions. From giant rubber duckies to bizarre museums dedicated to oddities, these unexpected gems are perfect opportunities for laughter and photo ops. So, don’t be afraid to stop and embrace the wackiness of life. After all, who knows what hilarious memories await just around the bend?
Remember, my fellow road trippers, a God First Life isn’t just about reaching the destination it’s about enjoying the ride. So, let’s buckle up, keep our sense of humor intact, and embrace the divine adventure that lies ahead.
As we journey together, let laughter be our fuel, joy be our compass, and the Spirit’s GPS be our guide. May each mile be filled with laughter, love, and a deeper connection with God.
So, let’s hit the road with smiles on our faces, laughter in our hearts, and faith as our constant companions. This God First Life road trip is going to be epic, and I can’t wait to share the laughter-filled journey with all of you.

In your precious son’s name, we pray.
Amen.
Little More
If you know me you KNOW that I LOVE to travel.
And before we got our plane we drove EVERYWHERE!!!!
This one time we took a 5-week road trip where we ended up 8 hours deep into Canada in this little town called Red Lake. Look it up. The road literally ends in that town. lol
From there we hit Pennsylvania then drove to west Texas and then back up to Colorado!
It was an epic road trip where Jenna and I made the decision to start Eclipse DOT!!!!
There was another road trip where we brainstormed the idea to bring Gary Chapman, the author of the 5 love languages to Durango, CO for an epic weekend marriage seminar!
And another one where we went to northern California to check out the Red Woods and we lost our camera 1.2 way through the trip.
This was before Cell phones, so we went to a store and bought a few disposable cameras to capture the last few days of memories.
Anyways.
There is something about being on the open road and having your life partner sitting next to you that causes my brain to open up and start vomiting ideas.
This summer we are planning on another epic adventure that is going to last about 2-3 weeks. We are going to take off from the house and head up to a few national parks. Hopefully, get to a few we haven’t ever been to and a few that it’s been a while since we’ve been there.
Do a little camping, to take us back to the old days.
And have some fun while brainstorming about our next adventure.
I am 1000% sure that a few devotionals will be coming from this epic adventure.
So¦
Stay tuned to see what happens and how I get inspired to share God’s word!
