Creating Lasting Impact: Building a Life of Encouragement, Education, and Momentum
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
The call to make a lasting impact in our lives can sometimes feel overwhelming. We might find ourselves questioning if our daily efforts to encourage others, educate our children, or live faithfully are truly making a difference. Are the small seeds we plant today ever going to bear fruit? It’s easy to feel weary or wonder if these seemingly minor acts are worth it. But Galatians 6:9 speaks directly to this feeling, offering a timeless reassurance: “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” This verse is a gentle reminder from God that every small act done in love, every lesson taught with intention, and every choice made for His glory is part of a much greater plan. Although we may not see the fruits of our labor right away, God is using each of these moments to create a ripple effect, one that stretches far beyond what we can see.
God calls us to “do good” not only in grand gestures but in the quiet, daily choices that seem insignificant. Every smile shared, every hand extended, and every truth taught is like a small stone dropped into a vast lake. We may only see the initial ripple, but God sees the entire scope, the way each wave of kindness touches another life, which then touches another, and so on. Our faithfulness to God’s calling, even in the unseen and uncelebrated moments, becomes part of a spiritual legacy, impacting lives and bringing glory to Him. This encouragement keeps us going, knowing that every act done in love leaves a lasting imprint on the world, one that God will carry forward in His perfect timing.
Encouragement, especially, is a powerful way to share God’s love and hope. A word of affirmation, a gesture of kindness, or a helping hand can uplift someone in ways we may never know. Like planting seeds, we may not see the results of our encouragement right away, but over time, these seeds take root and grow, impacting lives for years to come. Jesus modeled this perfectly; He took time to encourage and uplift those around Him, from His disciples to people who felt marginalized and unseen. He often spoke to people’s potential, to the greatness within them, which allowed them to see themselves through His eyes. When we choose to be encouragers in our interactions, we are following His example, creating an atmosphere where people feel valued, loved, and inspired to spread that kindness to others. These small ripples of encouragement can grow into waves of positivity and faith that reach far beyond our immediate circle.
Education is another way we create a lasting impact, especially the kind of education that happens in our homes. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This verse speaks to the profound responsibility and privilege we have in teaching our children life’s most valuable lessons. Schools can provide important academic knowledge, but as parents and mentors, we have the unique opportunity to teach our children the deeper lessons of life: faith, integrity, resilience, and responsibility. These lessons form the foundation that will support them throughout their lives. Teaching them about God’s love, the importance of managing resources wisely, and making choices rooted in integrity are lessons that guide them well beyond the classroom. Just as Jesus invested in the spiritual and moral growth of His disciples, we are called to invest in the growth of our children, guiding them in the way they should go. These are the seeds that may take time to grow, but if we remain faithful, in due season, we will see them flourish.
Finally, building momentum in our faith is about making small, daily choices that reflect our dedication to God. Often, we may feel like these small acts are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. A prayer said in the quiet of the morning, a quick but intentional word of thanks, or a decision to forgive may seem like minor moments. Yet Galatians 6:9 encourages us to keep going, knowing that each step we take in faith is creating momentum for God’s purposes. Like the ripple effect, each act of faith — whether it’s choosing kindness, showing patience, or taking a few minutes for prayer — contributes to a larger picture, one that God is weaving together for His kingdom. He is the one who carries these ripples forward, touching lives, reaching hearts, and spreading His love in ways we may never fully understand. Just as one ripple leads to another, each small decision made in faith builds a movement of God’s love and purpose in the world.
In our journey of encouragement, education, and faith, it’s natural to feel moments of weariness or doubt. But we can hold fast to God’s promise: our faithfulness in the little things, done in love and for His glory, will bear fruit in His perfect timing. When we look at our lives through the lens of Galatians 6:9, we can be encouraged to press on, knowing that every small choice, every seed planted, and every act of love is being woven into God’s eternal tapestry, creating ripples of hope, love, and grace for generations to come.
Take Action:
Today, let’s make the choice to “not grow weary” in doing good, trusting that God sees every effort and is using it for His glory. Start by encouraging someone close to you — a friend, family member, or coworker. Offer a sincere word that builds them up. Set aside time to teach or discuss a meaningful lesson with your family, whether it’s about faith, finances, or handling challenges. And as you go about your day, keep a prayer in your heart that every action, no matter how small, will honor God and contribute to the momentum He is building in your life.
Consider keeping a journal of these moments of encouragement, teaching, and faith-building. Write down the prayers you’ve said for others, the lessons you’ve shared, and the kindnesses you’ve offered. Over time, you’ll see that these small actions build a legacy, a life lived with intention and love.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the calling to create lasting impact in the lives of those around us. We are humbled that You invite us to be part of Your work, to be vessels of Your love, wisdom, and encouragement in a world that so desperately needs it. We confess that sometimes we feel weary in doing good, unsure if our small actions make a difference, but we hold fast to Your promise in Galatians 6:9. Strengthen our hearts to keep sowing seeds of love, even when we cannot see the harvest, trusting that in Your perfect timing, our labor will bear fruit.
Lord, help us to be encouragers like Jesus, seeing the potential in those around us and speaking life into them. Give us eyes to notice those who feel unseen, those who are weary, and those who need a word of hope. Teach us to speak words that uplift, affirm, and inspire. May our encouragement bring light to others, reminding them of their worth in Your eyes and their unique calling. Let every word and action be a reflection of Your love, creating ripples of hope and joy that extend far beyond what we can see.
Father, we thank You for the sacred privilege of teaching the next generation. Remind us that true education goes beyond knowledge; it’s about imparting values, faith, and resilience that will sustain them through life’s challenges. Give us wisdom as we teach our children to trust in You, to make wise choices, and to live with integrity. May our homes be places of learning and growth, where faith is nurtured, and Your truth is spoken with love. Help us to train them in the way they should go, knowing that You are planting seeds that will grow in their hearts and guide them throughout their lives.
Lord, we ask for the strength to build momentum in our faith. Help us to see that every small act of obedience, every choice to forgive, and every moment spent in prayer contributes to Your greater purpose. Give us patience to continue even when the results are invisible. Teach us to live each day with a heart that seeks to honor You, in the little things and the big things alike. Remind us that You are the one carrying our efforts forward, using each ripple to touch hearts and bring others closer to You. When doubt and weariness creep in, fill us with renewed hope and courage, knowing that every act of faith has meaning in Your kingdom.
Thank You, Lord, for entrusting us with this calling and for empowering us to make a difference. Guide us to keep going, to keep loving, to keep encouraging, and to keep building, knowing that You are the one who brings the increase. May our lives be a testimony to Your goodness, a light that points others to You, and a source of encouragement that lifts those around us. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
God bless, and let’s keep Him first in everything we do.
