God Has A Plan

“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?.”

Esther 4:14

Another way to read this verse is, “perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created for”

Have you ever felt the spirit wash over you?

You know what I’m talking about here, you get goosebumps all over your body and know that the spirit is with you.

You can feel it.

I really notice this happening as I come to God.

Recently I attended a conference, and I wasn’t 100% sure why I was going. I knew that I wanted to learn something and knew that I was supposed to be there. But I still didn’t know WHY I was supposed to be there.

When I bought my flight and tickets to attend I KNEW in my heart that God needed me to be there.

So, what did I do?

I listened. I jumped in headfirst and bought everything.

Guess what?

At the conference, they introduced their NEW SOFTWARE.

You might be thinking, Dan, that’s great. But who cares?

Well, you might not know it, but the month after I attended the event we were launching software for trucking companies that we built to help them be 100% with federal regulations.

So, because I listened to God and went when he told me to go and where he told me to go. I am able to mimic the launch of a multi $100,000,000.00 company. Yes, I said multi-100-million-dollar annual company.

WHAT!!!!!!

The other thing that he did while I was there, besides taking over 50 pages of notes on what the speakers had to say, was to tell me through them that the way I was going to launch our software is exactly how they are going to launch there’s.

They must have been tapping my lines of communication because our plans were pretty much identical. Build some, beta test it with the industry, then launch it piece by piece. Not only that, they aren’t doing a full rollout until after they get it up and running at full capacity! Just like I wanted to do.

You see because God placed me there, it gave me the reassurance that he knew I needed but I couldn’t find anywhere else.

You might be saying, Dan, that’s amazing and God is Definitely working in YOUR life. But I don’t feel him in my life. I’m not as successful (which is a lie), I don’t have a wonderful family to share any of my joys with (I’ll bet you do, it just might not be blood), and I just can’t see God working at all in my life.

Can I tell you a secret?

He is working, he is there, he does care.

You just have to open your eyes to him and then you will see him.

Lots of times we close our eyes when we get scared. We don’t want to see what’s coming so we close our eyes. Then what happens when we close our eyes? We get lost. We run into walls or walk off the edge into a pool of water. Or hit a pole.

One time when Jenna and I were dating we were walking down the street in town, and I was paying attention to her. You know how it is when you are dating, we were IN LOVE and nothing else mattered. (You just sang the words “in love” didn’t you? Admit it.)

Anyways as we walked down the street I was paying full attention to her and NOTHING else. And guess what happened.

I walked straight into a streetlight.

No seriously, like straight into it. It almost knocked me down.

She laughed, much like you are doing now, I assume. (Hey, quit laughing at me. Lol)

But did it stop me?

NO

I never let go of her hand, moved over closer to her, and kept moving forward, even though my head hurt like the dickens.

The point is that, I didn’t question why I ran into the pole, I just trusted that it was for a reason. I didn’t get mad at the pole for being in the wrong place, I trusted that it happened for a reason. I didn’t get mad at Jenna for not telling me that I was going to run into that pole. (Hey, maybe I should have been mad at her though. Lol)

Things like these have happened to me my entire life. Some of them have been WAY worse.

The key is that I didn’t place blame, I simply got up, dusted myself off, and moved forward.

Because I KNOW that Everything happens for a reason. God is always looking out for us, and he wants what’s best for us.

It’s our job to trust him and KNOW that he is there for us.

I can go on and on about things that have happened for me in the past that at the time I didn’t see as a positive. But have really molded me into the person I am today!

Remember that every battery has to have a positive and a negative side. And the only way to get a spark is to touch the two sides together!

Think about it, and if you want to feel it, stick your tongue on a 9V battery (not recommended, don’t do that! Lol) You just did it anyway didn’t you?

Take Action

Look back through your life. Really look back into your memories. Find a negative time, something that you didn’t see any positive in the situation.

Got it?

Good. Now, look just past that moment. What happened in the next 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days, or even 5 months? Did anything positive come from that negative experience?

You bet it did. If you couldn’t find one, take a moment to pray about it, then look back again. Did you find it now?

Prayer

Lord, God we are so thankful that you have designed us for different reasons. We know that you created us and that you give us everything, even the things we see as bad. We know that they aren’t really bad, just not what we expected. And for that we are thankful. Thankful that when we open our eyes we can see what you really want us to see. So today God we come to you in prayer to ask for help. Help us open our eyes to you. Help us to see you at work in every aspect of our lives. Help us to know that you are placing us in every situation for a REASON. Help us to know that when something happens, and we don’t see WHY it’s happening that we chose to lean on you instead of ourselves to find the answer. God, we know that you are in control and that you do everything for us. In the words of Tony Robbins, everything happens for us, not to us. And that we know that you are in control. So, help us to open our eyes to you so that we can see you. Help us to listen to you and learn that you are the creator, and you KNOW what is best for us. God, you are an amazing God, you are the only God, and you are caring for us and want us to succeed at everything we do in life. God, thank you for your inspiration and love. Please help us to share that inspiration with the WORLD so that others can see you through the way that we live our lives.

We ask all these things in your precious son’s name

Amen

One Last Thing

Next time something happens, like you get delayed in traffic or don’t get out of the house on time because of a major accident, or your freezer stops working for no reason at all.

DON’T get mad, instead be grateful that God has this under control, and you are ready for something bigger, a bigger problem to work on next.

Ok, one last story to really drive this home.

We have a family member that was in a car accident a few years ago.

How horrifying as a parent and loved one in the first place.

Then when they took this kid to the hospital to check him out they did a full scan of his body and discovered a brain tumor.

Again, so very scary!

Everyone involved had two options and ways to look at this. 1. Why did this happen? Or 2. Thank you for allowing this car accident (where no one was hurt in the accident) so that we could discover his brain tumor and get it taken care of now before it grew into a problem that we couldn’t take care of.

You see if we chose to look at the negative, we would never have truly believed that we were in the right place at the right time.

But when we choose to look at the positive, we can truly SEE God’s hand at work in our lives.
